Demi Lovato announces new album, “It’s Not That Deep”

Lovatics don’t have to wait too long for new music …Demi Lovato’s new album will arrive sooner than fans think! Lovato announced that her ninth studio album, “It's Not That Deep”, will be released Friday October 24th.

At press time, a full tracklist has yet to be released. The album arrives after two previously-released singles: the pulsing “Fast” and the breakup anthem “Here All Night”. A total 180 from her 2022 hard rock /punk rock-influenced album, “HOLY FVCK” (as well as 2023’s collection of re-recordings, “Revamped”), “It's Not That Deep” is a straight-up dance pop record.

The former Disney Channel star took to Instagram mid-September, writing, “this music is a reflection of where I am now. so proud of all the work I’ve done, and now, it’s time to celebrate and have some fun!!!” She concluded the post saying, “it’s not that deep era starts now”. The album cover sees the powerhouse vocalist bare in front of the camera, holding a pinkish purple dress - directly from the cleaners - against her. Numerous people of all ages doing various activities (i.e. playing chess, talking, playing soccer, taking selfies) surround Lovato, seemingly oblivious the singer is standing right there. The cover also makes reference to various memes regarding Lovato over the past few years.

Produced by Zhone and Leland, the album will be released via Island Records (part of Universal Music Group). Since 2023, Lovato’s music has been released under her own imprint label (DGL Records) while Island Records handles exclusive licensing. This was done because the singer has reportedly expressed interest in exerting more creative control over her work.

The pop universe agrees that Demi is in her most “unserious” and carefree era yet. In the best way possible!
