A “Genius” announcement! Leah Kate announces sophomore album

“10 Things I Hate About You” singer, Leah Kate, has announced that her second studio album, “Genius”, will be released Friday November 7, 2025.

Ahead of the announcement, Leah Kate (born Leah Kate Kalmenson) has already released the album’s lead single, “Dead Sexy Body”.

Over the past few years, the 32-year old pop rocker has been steadily dropping singles -keeping fans on their toes. Recent singles include: “What Girls Do” (2024), “Nasty” (2024), “WYA” featuring rapper 24kGoldn (2024), “Merry B*tchmas” (2024), “Just Because” (2025) and has appeared on a remix of Daniel Arison’s track, “Selfish” (2025). Kate released her debut album, “Super Over”, in 2023. While Taylor Swift and Florence + The Machine have their sights set on an October release for their albums respectively, Kate wisely chose a slightly less-cluttered release month, November.

At press time, it appears Kate /her team do plan on releasing physical copies (vinyl and CD) of “Genius” (it didn’t hurt that I asked the singer personally on X, to which Kate ecstatically replied, “YESSSS”). No physical copies are being offered for pre-order on her site …but fingers crossed! At this time, her sophomore album is being offered in two formats: digital download and streaming.

Kate also has yet to announce a tour in support of “Genius”, but she had previously toured in support of her debut album …so hopefully a new tour will be announced soon!
