Dove Cameron drops the cover song we didn’t know we needed ahead of new Amazon Prime series

Dove Cameron has released a sultry cover of The Arctic Monkeys’ 2013 hit, “Do I Wanna Know?” …and it’s a cover we didn’t know we needed! The former Disney Channel star, best known for her starring roles in the network’s comedy series, “Liv and Maddie,” and the channel’s “Descendants” movie franchise, respectively, has been steadily cultivating a fan base outside of the House of Mouse since her 2022 single, “Boyfriend”, gained traction on TikTok.

While it’s unclear if the cover will appear on Dove’s long-awaited debut album, The Arctic Monkeys cover - in the meantime - serves as the soundtrack for Cameron’s upcoming Amazon Prime series, “56 Days”. Based on the novel by Catherine Ryan Howard of the same name, the former Disney Channel actress will co-star in the thriller series alongside former Nickelodeon “Victorious” actor Avan Jogia.

Channeling her previous single, “Boyfriend”, Dove’s shapeshifting vocals slide effortlessly over gauzy synths, nailing dark pop she does so well. While the original immediately grabs your attention with a beat that hits you over the head, Dove’s heady vocals ease you into the track.

The beat kicks in as Dove bites into the chorus of, “Crawlin' back to you / Ever thought of callin' when / You've had a fеw?” The track slithers along and will have you dancing til the end.

On her version, Cameron definitely ensures you’re a secret worth keeping.
