Chicago’s very own Sarah Krohn dazzles at Park West

Chicago indie-pop rocker Sarah Krohn dazzled in her hometown last week at Park West on Friday, January 30, 2026.

After going over some last-minute music nuances, Krohn - donning a vibrant, fire engine red jumpsuit - casually strolled over to the side of the stage. “Hi!” Krohn waved to the crowd of numerous 20 and 30-somethings as she reemerged with swagger and pride -her long, matching red hair flowing behind her. If Paramore’s Hayley Williams has a doppelgänger, Sarah Krohn would definitely be her. “My name’s Sarah Krohn. Thanks for coming out tonight; we appreciate it”. Right away, the audience was hooked, eager to see who this artist was and what she was all about.

The indie artist wasted no time, making good use of her short (approximately 30 min.) set. In that small timeframe, Krohn showed us that it was definitely worth coming out to brave the cold winter weather together under one (very roomy!) roof.

Upon picking up her Fender, Krohn informed us, “This next song is about my ex-boyfriend”, as if she were a longtime friend having a casual conversation with us. But there was something that stood out with Krohn. She captivated us with her engaging stage presence, casually walking back and forth to either side of the stage -making sure everyone sprinkled throughout the room could see her. Her stage presence was fun.

Towards the end of her set, the Windy City native thanked her band and venue, as well as took the time to emphasize community in Chicago and how we need to look out for each other, especially important in the wake of the civil unrest in our nation regarding ICE, to which the crowd responded with cheers. Winding down her set, Krohn - once again - introduced herself to the crowd, adding, “[regarding my last name] …that’s Krohn with a ‘K’”.

In that brief window of time, Sarah Krohn made everyone feel welcome to her set. We all hunkered down inside Park West on a frigid and stormy winter night while listening to indie pop-rock tunes. Couldn’t think of a better night to spend it.

So far this year, Krohn has supported numerous local acts, including music duo The Devil Said Jump and the band Rain Garden at Schubas Tavern on January 11. For this show, Krohn was supporting Windy City band Hollyy (no, the band name is not a typo), three-piece Runner & Bobby, as well as folk artist Julian Saunders.

For her next show, Sarah is scheduled to perform at Chicago’s Lincoln Hall on Friday, February 13th. Get tickets here.
