We’re heading into ‘The Warning’ zone with the their movie premiere Live from Auditorio Nacional & interview
We at NotOnStage were invited to the early screening of The Warning’s new film “Live From Auditorio Nacional, CDMX” which is hitting theaters today, August 21st. Buy your tickets at AMC and Cinépolis. This three sister rock band has an accompanying album coming out just a day later on the 22nd. Make sure to preorder the record, I know I already have. I had the opportunity to interview this trio on the red carpet at the premiere. Read below to see what they said.
The Warning’s film lets you relive The Warning’s three times sold out concert in Mexico City at the Auditorio Nacional last February. The cinematography captured the concert experience from both the audience and band’s perspective making it feel like I was really there. I was awestruck by the amount of time and effort that went into the film. In the panel discussion after the film the sisters said it was a dream come true, knowing that they will be seen in theaters around the world. They went on further to say they relived through every thought and emotion they felt back at the initial concerts. The panelists, Rudy, Alejandra (Ale), Paulina (Pau), and Daniela (Dany) all agreed that although they've seen nearly 500 concerts from phone recordings or similar, it is not the same as being there in person. The film breaks that idea though, as they felt like it was truly the closest one can get to actually being there. All of them acknowledging it was as a result of the phenomenal effort by the directors, editors, producers, and other staff who worked on the film. You can really feel the emotion and energy on stage and I can’t wait for another tour in the US. After watching the film I honestly might even buy tickets to watch it again! If you live in the UK you can even catch them while they tour with YUNGBLUD later in April.

Interview
The first question I asked the three of them was, how they are making waves in a genre that hasn’t always made room for women and how that has shaped them as individuals and as a band.
Pau stated that the three of them grew up with the notion that they belonged. They were always surrounded by girls and women when they were playing music. Pau would see her sisters playing and they would see her playing. There was nothing to limit them which allowed them to have a very big place for them to grow. Pau said “We never felt that it was exclusively for men, it was only until we started performing that we would notice that we were usually the only women there.” More than anything though, the three of them are immensely grateful that they are able to get to those stages and show people that music is for everybody. The way they do that is just by sharing what they love to do and the way they love to do it
The Warning reminds me of old school female rock bands like The Runaways and Pat Benatar, who changed the music industry. I wanted to hear from them which bands and artists they felt influenced them into developing the band's style.
Dany was more than excited to tell me. She said that there are a lot, from bands who have inspired them since they were little, like AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Muse, The Killers. Pau continued saying that Muse is one of their biggest inspirations. She also noted the Power Trio and that she and her sisters were also a power trio. As they grew up Dany commented on later influences by bands like Paramore, My Chemical Romance, and it is a forever growing list. Dany went on to add Royal Blood as their newest inspiration while the three of them work on new music.
Just for my own personal curiosity after falling in love with the band, I asked how soon fans can expect another US tour. Although they just finished touring the US around a month ago, Pau said that they usually go on at least two US tours every year and that we can expect another later next year.
The Warning has a tour in the UK this coming April so I asked if they were excited to be opening for YUNGBLUD. They all in unison voiced how they were all ecstatic and that it is going to be incredibly fun. Pau said that the three of them have met YUNGBLUD a couple of times and how awesome he is. Dany even said that she is excited to be able to see his show, with Ale continuing saying that she has never seen him play before so it's going to be awesome to experience. The three of them agreed that it is going to be an honor to share the stage with him in this way and be able to visit his country.
I wanted to end off on a lighthearted note so I asked the three of them if their US tour manager has made any new meals beyond his famously good burgers. They all laughed with Pau noting that now that they’ve stopped touring they haven’t seen him in a while so he hasn’t been able to cook for them. Ale had to mention again that his burgers are great! Dany saying they are the best. Pau ended off complimenting me on how much I know about them.
