Alexander Stewart Brings The What If? Tour To Phoenix: Review & Gallery

Canadian singer-songwriter Alexander Stewart brought his What If? Tour to the Valley Bar in Phoenix, Arizona, for an unforgettable night for fans of all ages. The crowd was made up of anyone and everyone you could think of, from younger kids to older adults, all funneling into the venue excited to see the pop and ballad singer in action.

The night began at 8 p.m. with a captivating performance by alt/indie pop singer Neriah. Having seen Neriah on stage in the past, I knew she wouldn’t disappoint. Raising the energy in the room and preparing fans for Stewart’s 9 o’clock set, Neriah performed a half-hour set packed with fan favorites and new releases. Songs such as “Spring Cleaning” off her recent EP and her biggest hit, “Unfinished Business,” set the mood for the night ahead. As always, Neriah ended her set by presenting a handwritten note to one lucky fan in the audience, creating a heartfelt connection and gaining new fans along the way.

Opening the night with “Here Again” off his touring album, the energy in the room instantly surged as fans began to sing along and dance to Stewart’s powerhouse vocals and intimate lyrics. Joining him on stage were drummer Brittany Nicole Bowman and guitarist/keyboardist Flynn Tanner. In addition, Stewart played guitar himself, adding even more depth to his ballad-heavy and acoustic-driven sound.

Continuing the night, Stewart performed new hits from his sophomore album, such as “Not Ready Yet” and “Friends Don’t,” along with some of his biggest fan favorites, including “blame’s on me” and “i wish you cheated.” Singing along to every song, fans watched the performance with stars in their eyes, anxiously waiting for what would come next in the set.

Watching fans of all ages come together to enjoy such an incredible show was truly endearing. As this was my first time seeing Alexander Stewart live, it is without a doubt that he is poised to become one of the next big artists to top the charts. Through his deeply personal songwriting, incredible vocal range, and already dedicated fanbase, we can’t wait to see where Stewart’s career goes next and look forward to his return to Phoenix.
